Garbrandt (10-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) said he ran into Cruz (22-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) prior to his fight with Takeya Mizugaki at the Aug. 20 pay-per-view event in Las Vegas. He let the champ know he would pay for his words. “I saw him and went up to him, and (he was like), ‘What’s up, dude,’ like we were high school buddies or something,” Garbrandt said at a Q&A prior to the ceremonial UFC 203 weigh-ins at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
