Soon will come the dawn of a new era for the UFC. On Wednesday, ESPN announced it will take over the rights to all UFC content in the U.S. beginning in January 2019, signaling the end of a seven-year relationship between FOX Sports and the UFC. By the time it’s over this December, more than 120 UFC events will have aired on FOX properties. There’s no question the past seven years formed a crucial era in the UFC’s history, helping push the promotion – and the sport of MMA as whole – into the mainstream.
