Nick Diaz Nick Diaz attorney’s yesterday said the fighter’s legal team is waiting on the Nevada State Athletic Commission to file a written order of his suspension before filing an appeal. “They made their order at the hearing, and their regulations require that they issue their findings in writing, and it’s those written findings that you appeal from,” Lucas Middlebrook told MMAjunkie. Middlebrook said Diaz attorney Nick Granath has made an outline of the appeal, which will be filed to Nevada district court in hopes of overturning the sanction, but added there is only so much that can be done before they get the NSAC’s order. By statute, the NSAC has 60 days to file its official decision, a five-year suspension and fines handed down Sept. 14 after a contentious hearing with Diaz and his legal reps.
