Losing his title for the second time may have come as a blessing in disguise for Douglas Lima . Lima (32-7 MMA, 14-3 BMMA) put his welterweight title on the line against Rory MacDonald at Bellator 192 in 2018 and lost a unanimous decision to MacDonald, who had to battle through a broken nose and a badly damaged leg to rally for the win. Despite losing his title, Lima took plenty of lessons from that fight, mainly from his opponent MacDonald, who showed the ability to push through adversity and persevere. “I’m so thankful for that fight,” Lima told MMA Junkie. “It’s fine.
