With that celebration comes a much more frequent milestone: his weekly review of his first loss in the UFC octagon. “I’ve never panicked like that and rolled out the wrong way,” Jackson told MMAjunkie. A former Legacy FC featherweight champ, Jackson (9-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC), 26, stepped up to compete as a lightweight on short-notice against vet Yancy Medeiros this past August at UFC 177. Early in the second round, Medeiros slapped on a guillotine choke, and Jackson suffered a lapse in judgement as he tried to escape the submission hold.
