Jan Blachowicz is confident he’d put Jon Jones away quickly. On his rise up the UFC light heavyweight ranks, Blachowicz always eyed a fight with former champion Jones. With Jones front row in attendance for his fight against Corey Anderson in February 2020, Blachowicz scored a knockout in Round 1 to earn his first-career title shot. But he wouldn’t end up getting his long-desired shot at Jones. Instead, Jones vacated his 205-pound title for a move up to heavyweight, and Blachowicz wound up stopping Dominick Reyes to capture the vacant belt at UFC 253.
