Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum Fabricio Werdum knows what his first assignment will be as the UFC’s heavyweight champion. Werdum (20-5-1 MMA, 8-2 UFC) will next meet former champ Cain Velasquez (13-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) – whom he beat in the UFC 188 main event in June to take the title. Velasquez will attempt to claim the heavyweight belt for the third time. Ariel Helwani reported the news on Wednesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight” on FOX Sports 1, citing UFC President Dana White. A date and location for the title fight has not yet been decided. Werdum is riding a six-fight winning streak, all since returning to the UFC after a four-fight run in Strikeforce.
