Filed under: Featured Videos , News , UFC , Videos HAMBURG, Germany – Most UFC fighters are happy about Joe Silva’s upcoming departure from the sport, but they admit there’s a lot of uncertainty ahead. On Wednesday MMAjunkie reported the veteran UFC matchmaker’s plans to retire and leave the organization , possibly before year’s end. Many fighters, including those on Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 93 lineup in Germany, are happy for Silva and wish him well as he pursues his post-MMA life. After all, for most fighters, their primary contact within the organization is Silva (and fellow matchmaker Sean Shelby), so they’ve gotten to know the veteran MMA exec on a personal basis. It’s not always an easy job – Silva and Shelby spoke to MMAjunkie in 2013 about the difficulties they experience  as matchmakers, including the emotional toll of releasing fighters – and the fighters know it.
