How she came into her fight against Kelly McGill at Invicta FC 16 in March wasn’t quite how female bantamweight up-and-comer Aspen Ladd would have liked, but she nonetheless was able to come away with a solid third-round TKO victory. With McGill’s originally scheduled opponent, Amberlynn Orr, dropping out of their bout, Ladd stepped in on short notice, even though she was feeling less than 100-percent healthy. “I think I did pretty well considering they called me on a week’s notice, while I was in bed sick with the flu,” Ladd told MMAWeekly.com. “Honestly, when we know there’s an Invicta date, we train anyway, because there’s been several times where you’ve got to be ready for the call when someone drops (out of a fight).
