Sam Alvey was already dealing with a broken jaw, so this might be adding insult to literal injury. The fan-favorite middleweight, who chose the nickname “Smile’n” for obvious reasons, recently posted a photo following a lost bet. Alvey (26-7 MMA, 3-2) owed a debt to UFC prospect Sage Northcutt, and the results are pretty suave (via Twitter ): I lost a bet to @sagenorthcutt and here is my payment. pic.twitter.com/5f7MFM9IGp — Sam Alvey (@smilensam) February 9, 2016 So how did Alvey end up with a Northcutt-like hairdo? He and Northcutt apparently had a bet on December’s UFC 194 headliner, in which Conor McGregor (19-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) scored a 13-second knockout of longtime champ Jose Aldo (25-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) to claim the featherweight belt. Guess which fighter Alvey bet on (via Twitter ).
