NEWARK, N.J. – Gerald Meerschaert has experienced back-to-back losses in his MMA career, but never in the UFC. A two-fight skid on the regional scene might mean the difference between a longer tour of duty there and a trip to the big leagues. In the UFC, it could mean the end of a career. “If I would have got the right call in the last fight, it’d be a different situation,” Meerschaert told MMA Junkie in advance of his fight with Trevin Giles at UFC on ESPN 5 at Prudential Center in Newark.
