Filed under: Featured Videos , News , UFC , Videos CHICAGO – Time off isn’t anything new for Gilbert Melendez , though the circumstances around his most recent extended layoff are new. After a split-decision loss to Eddie Alvarez in June 2015 at UFC 188, Melendez tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in a post-fight test. That was prior to the start of the UFC’s partnership with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, and he was given a yearlong suspension by the promotion. On Saturday, Melendez (22-5 MMA, 1-3 UFC) returns from that suspension when he meets Edson Barboza (17-4 MMA, 11-4 UFC) in the UFC on FOX 20 co-main event. The card takes place at United Center in Chicago and airs on FOX following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass
