Glover Teixeira At 36 and with a recent two-fight skid, Glover Teixeira ’s primary current goal may seem a bit ambitious: He wants to fight again for the title. Of course, in his current division, that’s going to take some work. Although Teixeira is ranked No. 7 in the NOS Energy Drink MMA light-heavyweight rankings , there’s a logjam ahead of him; reigning champ Daniel Cormier appears destined for a rematch with returning ex-champ Jon Jones, perennial contender Ryan Bader has made a strong case for a shot of his own, and the likes of Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Johnson have suffered title losses but remain near the top of the division, much like Teixeira. So heading into Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 77 co-headliner with Patrick Cummins (8-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC), Teixeira (23-4 MMA, 6-2 UFC) hopes he can build off a recent “Fight of the Night” victory over Ovince Saint Preux, put together a winning streak, and get another shot at the belt. “After this fight, I plan to celebrate in my hometown of Sobralia, Minas Gerais,” Teixeira, whose bout airs on FOX Sports 1 from Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, told MMAjunkie
