Herb Dean A pair of veteran referees will oversee the two title fights next month in Las Vegas, the Nevada State Athletic Commission today confirmed. At a meeting today in Las Vegas, the commission appointed Herb Dean to referee UFC 189’s main event between featherweight champ Jose Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and Conor McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC). John McCarthy will work the co-headliner featuring welterweight champ Robbie Lawler (25-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC) and Rory MacDonald (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC).
