Rory MacDonald will try to make MMA history on Saturday in the Bellator 206 main event. MacDonald (20-4 MMA, 2-0 BMMA), Bellator’s welterweight champion, will challenge middleweight titleholder Gegard Mousasi (44-6-2 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) for the belt at 185 pounds. With a win, MacDonald would become the first simultaneous two-division champion in Bellator history. It would put MacDonald in an interesting predicament. A win would give him the middleweight title, but next on his agenda no matter what will be a fight in Bellator’s welterweight tournament – which opens Saturday at Bellator 206, as well.
