Israel Adesanya is not going through some major physical transformation as he jumps to light heavyweight in an attempt to claim a second UFC title. Adesanya (20-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC), the reigning UFC middleweight champion, moves up to 205 pounds next month to challenge Jan Blachowicz (27-8 MMA, 10-5 UFC) in the main event of UFC 259 on March 6 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Although the 20-pound jump from middleweight to light heavyweight is the widest of any two UFC divisions, it appears Adesanya is sticking true to the philosophy that putting on a bunch of new weight in a short time isn’t going to sway the result one way or another.
