Getting knocked out was a bad enough experience for UFC lightweight James Vick . Almost as bad was the opportunity he’d lost. Vick (13-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) had talked himself into a fight with Justin Gaethje (19-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC), attacking verbally until he was chosen when the star slugger needed a late replacement at UFC Fight Night 135. Had Vick come out ahead, it might have opened the door to matchups he’d felt were previously out of reach.
