In the main event, hometown hero and UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic closed the show in memorable fashion when he knocked out challenger Alistair Overeem in the first round of the “Fight of the Night.” Miocic (16-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) was nearly stopped himself in the opening minutes, but then he turned the tables and halted Overeem (41-15 MMA, 6-4 UFC) to defend his belt for the first time .
