UFC 172 is a wrap and with two critical light heavyweight bouts at the top of the card, the 205-pound weight class now has a touch more clarity. Jon Jones  (20-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) successfully defended his UFC light heavyweight championship for the seventh time with a unanimous decision win over Glover Teixeira (22-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) in the pay-per-view headliner from Baltimore’s Baltimore Arena. The co-headlining act saw  Anthony Johnson (17-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) upset Phil Davis (13-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) in his return to the UFC to establish his place as one of the top contenders at 205 pounds. The remainder of the main card featured standout performances from  Luke Rockhold (12-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC),  Jim Miller (24-4 MMA, 13-3 UFC) and  Max Holloway (9-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC). After every event, fans wonder whom the winners will be matched up with next. And with another night of UFC action in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look forward, put on a pair of Joe Silva’s (and Sean Shelby’s) shoes, and play UFC matchmaker
