Cain Velasquez (13-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) lost his heavyweight title to Fabricio Werdum (20-5-1 MMA, 8-2 UFC) in the pay-per-view main event to end his title reign with two defenses. Gilbert Melendez (22-5 MMA, 1-3 UFC) and Charles Rosa (10-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) dropped split decisions that will be a source of frustration and motivation for the future. Additionally, Nate Marquardt (33-15-2 MMA, 11-8 UFC) and Angela Hill (2-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) were sent back to the drawing board with clear-cut losses against superior opposition.
