Former World Series of Fighting title challenger Josh Burkman is making his return to the UFC. UFC president Dana White on Friday announced the signing, revealing that Burkman would make his return on Jan. 3 at UFC 182, where he will face Hector Lombard . After winning 6 of his last 7, Josh Burkman makes UFC return at UFC 182 Jan 3rd in Las Vegas against #6 welterweight Hector Lombard — Dana White (@danawhite) October 3, 2014 Burkman (27-10) was 5-5 during his first run through the UFC, but has since gone on to win nine of his 11 bouts outside of the Octagon. He was one of the WSOF’s original signings, and made a run at the welterweight belt, upsetting Jon Fitch before losing to Steve Carl in a battle for the belt. Burkman faces no easy task upon his return to the Octagon.
