LAS VEGAS – Kennedy Nzechukwu is not ignorant to the path of least resistance against Danilo Marques. Nzechukwu (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has shown off some vicious striking in his short octagon tenure, but on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 190 he gets paired up with a grappling specialist in Masques (11-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC). The light heavyweight bout takes place at the UFC Apex and streams on ESPN+. That means it’s in Nzechukwu’s best interest to keep the fight standing, which is certainly his goal. Ahead of the bout, Nzechukwu attended UFC Fight Night 190 media day on Wednesday and discussed making adjustments from his “Fight of the Night” win over Carlos Ulberg at UFC 259, his approach to fighting Marques and more. “I know I haven’t had the chance to show my takedown defense, but I do have good jiu-jitsu and takedown defense,” Nzechukwu told MMA Junkie.
