Khamzat Chimaev is not short on confidence – even when it pertains to the champion. Just three UFC fights in, Chimaev (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) has risen into one of the most dominant forces in the sport and he’s ready to shoot straight for the top. The 27-year-old Chechnya-born fighter takes on his first ranked opponent in Li Jingliang (18-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) this Saturday at UFC 267, but already sees the bigger picture. When asked about the upcoming welterweight title fight between champion Kamaru Usman (19-1 MMA, 14-0 UFC) and Colby Covington (16-2 MMA, 11-2 UFC) at UFC 268, Chimaev wasn’t all too impressed. “Maybe it’ll go to a decision, maybe someone will get a knockout, both guys tough guys but nothing special,” Chimaev told UFC Arabia .
