Vera (17-7-1 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) avenged his loss to Davey Grant by defeating him at UFC on ESPN 25 on Saturday, earning “Fight of the Night” honors for their bloody war. In his post-fight interview in the octagon, Vera called out No. 9-ranked Dominick Cruz , a fight he sees as a logical next step for him in his ascent up the 135-pound ladder. “I would like to fight with Cruz,” Vera said at the post-fight news conference. “It’s not like I’m dying for the fight, but I think it makes sense.
