Fight fans who tune in to “Rizin FF 5: Sakura” this weekend will hear a familiar MMA broadcasting combo. It was announced Friday that veteran MMA announcer Mauro Ranallo and MMA pioneer Frank Shamrock will call the action for the promotion’s PPV, which takes place Sunday at Yokohama Arena in Japan and streams live (2 a.m. ET/11 p.m. PT) on FITE TV. Ranallo and Shamrock are no strangers to each other as they regularly called Strikeforce events together on Showtime until the promotion’s acquisition and eventual merger by the UFC in 2013.
