Miesha Tate Miesha Tate arrived at Saturday’s post-UFC 183 press conference shielding one half of her swollen face while clearly in pain. The former Strikeforce champion and two-time UFC title challenger had just returned from the hospital, where doctors examined a broken orbital bone she suffered in a grueling win over Olympic silver-medal wrestler Sara McMann. The bout, which closed out UFC 183’s FOX Sports 1-televised prelims prior to the pay-per-view main card, didn’t start off well for Tate (16-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC), who was blasted in the first round and nearly stopped by McMann (8-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) due to strikes (watch the Tate vs. McMann video highlights ).
