Although no fights are going on at the moment (but that could change soon), the MMA world was still buzzing with news to discuss Wednesday. Most of it revolved around UFC 249, which got a new interim lightweight title main event between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje after Khabib Nurmagomedov was officially removed from the card in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to Ferguson vs. Gaethje, the complete UFC 249 fight card was revealed, and the event will reportedly go down at Tachi Palace, which is on tribal land in California. Tachi Palace will apparently host the next several UFC cards, then after that the promotion will shift gears to hosting events on a private island , which UFC president Dana White claims he is close to securing.
