LAS VEGAS – Nate Diaz said his victory over Conor McGregor at UFC 196 had nothing to do with size or weight, but rather that he was simply the better martial artist. Diaz (19-10 MMA, 14-8 UFC) shocked UFC featherweight champion McGregor (19-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in Saturday’s welterweight pay-per-view headliner in Las Vegas when he locked up a second-round submission that resulted in the first UFC loss for “The Notorious.” McGregor came out on fire early and landed some hard shots on Diaz that opened a bloody cut, but unsurprisingly Diaz wasn’t discouraged. He continued to march forward with strikes until he hurt McGregor and forced him into a sloppy takedown that set up the fight-ending submission
