Although it apparently took him a full day to process Saturday’s UFC on FOX 10 event, UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz unveiled a stinging review once he did. Although not mentioned by name, victor Benson Henderson and fellow headliner Josh Thomson – and even cageside champion Anthony Pettis – were targeted in the today’s early-morning Twitter rant. I would've done a interview but they scared to call I think UFC got you all in check… #marks http://t.co/rrkqRQwqfj — Nathan Diaz (@NateDiaz209) January 27, 2014 Diaz (17-9 MMA, 12-7 UFC) recently halted a two-fight skid (which included losses, coincidentally, to Henderson and Thomson) with a first-round TKO win over Gray Maynard in November. Diaz, perhaps surprisingly, then said he planned to wait on the sidelines for someone to get injured so he could get a title shot, much like other recent contenders. While some dismissed Diaz’s comments as snark, the former title challenger was perhaps more serious than they realized. As MMAjunkie reported earlier this month, the UFC planned to book Diaz for an April 11 headliner with Khabib Nurmagomedov (21-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC), but Diaz’s camp is trying to work on a new UFC contract and nixed the plans.
