Like Sean O’Malley , Paddy Pimblett is not willing to fight a ranked opponent without an increase in pay. O’Malley turned heads when he claimed that his level of competition hasn’t increased since he gets paid the same for every opponent and Pimblett (17-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) appears to have a similar mentality. The former Cage Warriors champion burst into the UFC scene in September when he knocked out Luigi Vendramini in the first round for one of the most memorable promotional debuts in history. The charismatic Scouser’s popularity and social media following skyrocketed and just one bout into his four-fight deal, Pimblett’s value has vastly increased. When asked if he would be interested in getting fast-tracked, Pimblett said not if the numbers don’t match the magnitude of the fight. “No, I think they’ll do the opposite,” Pimblett said on the “Anything Goes with James English” podcast.
