Even mentioning herself in the same sentence as champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk will lead some to jeer online. Until she has wins over the division’s top contenders, she’ll be fighting to prove herself. VanZant (6-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC), who next headlines UFC Fight Night 80 opposite Joanne Calderwood (10-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC), said she understands this.
