Although far from perfect, director Vlad Yudin’s offering does manage to touch on the emotional core of the sport. The lives of several notable fighters are profiled in the film, which is now in select theaters. Along the way, we’re granted a retrospective of the sport, from its ancient inception to the recent legalization in New York state, the last American holdout. The UFC and its fighters are front and center, not surprisingly. A good deal of time is spent with Jon Jones, Ronda Rousey, Rashad Evans, Gary Goodridge, Mike Guymon and Sara McMann.
