But this is truly a new world for Lawler (25-10 MMA, 10-4 UFC). When he enters the cage to face MacDonald (18-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) on Saturday, it will be the first time in his career he has walked to the octagon with the label of “champion.” One benefit for Lawler is that he has not had to do all the heavy lifting for promoting the card, which takes place Saturday from the MGM Grand Garden Arena and airs on pay-per-view following prelims on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
