The Swedish Mixed Martial Arts Federation (SMMAF) has issued a statement to explain why one fighter was denied and another approved for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 53 event in Sweden. As MMAjunkie reported earlier today, the SMMAF ultimately turned down the UFC’s request to use French featherweight Taylor Lapilus  (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) as an opponent for UFC vet Dennis Siver  (21-9 MMA, 10-6 UFC).
