Stephen Thompson was trying to get back on track by targeting a former champion but drew a welterweight prospect instead. “Wonderboy” will face Vicente Luque at UFC 244 in New York on Nov. 2 but says he was initially trying to fight former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos . “I admit I was trying to get ‘RDA’ first; didn’t happen,” Thompson said on the latest episode of “Fight Talk” on his YouTube channel. “I just want to step back in there and perform for you guys again.” Instead he will face the streaking Luque, who is riding a six-fight winning streak and is looking to break into the top welterweight rankings
