A welterweight contender bout is targeted for the UFC’s June pay-per-view event. At UFC 289 , Stephen Thompson (17-6-1 MMA, 12-6-1 UFC) and Michel Pereira (28-11 MMA, 6-2 UFC) will square off in a three-round bout. The event takes place June 10. While no official announcement has been made, the card is expected to be in Canada. A person with knowledge of the matchup recently confirmed the targeted booking Tuesday to MMA Junkie but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement
