When one travels well beyond the glowing lights of a city, the sky hits a certain blend of black and purple, but the scattered stars of an uninterrupted desert sky typically cast some ambient flicker from light years away. On this particular night, the celestial ceiling is rolled out like a thick black mat that makes everything beyond appear as if it’s being swallowed up into the void. The majority of the outlying buildings on Cerrone’s property are sided with sheet metal that rattles and hums with every gust of wind that cuts through the sprawling ranch. It’s the type of night that seems ominous and menacing, but those feelings quickly evaporate when the double doors to “Cowboy’s” side of the house open up to reveal a concentration of hilarity currently in process
