During Friday’s Bellator 162 event , Sonnen (28-14-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and Ortiz (18-12-1 MMA, 2-1 BMMA), who meet on Jan. 21 in Bellator 170’s headliner , had a split-screen chat with moderator and Bellator broadcaster Jimmy Smith: Ahead of the fight, which airs on Spike from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., the debate provided the trash-talkers an opportunity to sling some insults. As we discuss in The Speed Bag, it was bizarre, even by Sonnen-Ortiz standards.
