Filed under: Featured , Featured Videos , News , UFC , Videos Georges St-Pierre hasn’t fought in nearly two years, and he may never return to fighting. But he probably is a guy we really need to have back in the MMA landscape more regularly, and he may have proven so when he went to bat for former opponent Nick Diaz after Diaz was suspended for five years by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for a third marijuana infraction. St-Pierre, a former longtime UFC welterweight champion who walked away from the sport in 2013, said the sport needs Diaz and said he would support him if he could – despite their heated past ahead of, and after, their UFC 158 title fight. In the latest edition of The Speed Bag, MMAjunkie’s Ben Fowlkes talks about St-Pierre’s declaration, what it means for the former champ, and what it could say about how much we need him in the sport right now. Check out the video above. For more on the UFC’s upcoming schedule, stay tuned to the UFC Rumors section of the site.
