She was told that a third fight with UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (12-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) was hers after she defeated Jessica Eye (11-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) at UFC on FOX 16. After the bout, UFC President Dana White said that Tate was the No. 1 contender , adding, “She has worked her way back to Ronda Rousey.” But then, the UFC blindsided everyone by announcing that Rousey would face Holly Holm (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in a fight that will serve as the main event of UFC 193, which takes place Nov. 14 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
