Tom Speer Tom Speer , who won MMA fame as a finalist on “The Ultimate Fighter 6,” just turned 30 and wants to give the sport another push. “The journey I took through meeting Matt Hughes, I think a part of it kind of hurt me,” he told MMAjunkie Radio. “The style that I should be is just go out there in fight. I got into, ‘what’s the gameplan,’ when I feel that’s not who I should be. I just want to get it out there and give it all I got.” In April 2013, Speer – who was introduced to the sport by the UFC Hall of Famer and former welterweight champ Hughes – left professional fighting and has since spent 20 months on the bench as he struggled with a knee injury
