A shot at UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was on the line in the UFC on FOX 11 main event Saturday night from Orlando’s Amway Center. Top contenders Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne were pitted against each other in the headlining act in a scheduled five-round contest with extremely high stakes. Few may have predicted it, but Werdum (18-5-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) needed all five rounds to get the job done as he disposed of Browne (16-2-1 MMA, 7-2-1 UFC) via lopsided unanimous decision in the featured bout of the network television fight card. “Vai Cavalo” dominated Browne in essentially every aspect of MMA and after more than seven years and two stints with the UFC, he’s finally get his shot at gold.
