Former UFC welterweight contender Jake Shields (30-7-1) was successful in his WSOF debut with a first-round submission of Ryan Ford (22-5) in the WSOF 14 headliner. After his release from the UFC earlier this year, Shields was eager to make an impression in his first appearance inside the WSOF cage. He accomplished that goal, as he picked up his first stoppage victory since June 2009 with the rear-naked choke of Ford.
