After a fairly dull night of action at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale, Nate Diaz stole the show with a spectacular first-round knockout of Gray Maynard in Saturday’s FOX Sports 1 main event. Diaz (17-9 MMA, 12-7 UFC) overwhelmed Maynard (11-3-1 MMA, 9-3-1 UFC) from the second he had him hurt, and though the fight ended with a rare standing stoppage from strikes, it was clear “The Bully” was in no condition to continue. The win at the 2:28 mark of the opening round was the quickest of Diaz’s UFC career, and his performance proved that his recent two-fight losing streak was nothing but a mere bump in the road.
