UFC 196 has a new main event, and it’s certainly an interesting one. After UFC lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos fell off the March 5 card in Las Vegas due to injury, event headliner Conor McGregor (19-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) needed a new opponent. Nate Diaz (18-10 MMA, 13-8 UFC) will be that man, because he will fight “The Notorious” in a five-round welterweight main event . It’s an unprecedented move for a current UFC champion to move up two weight classes, but that’s typical for McGregor, because his entire UFC run has been unprecedented.
