Robbie Lawler has been flawless in rematches during his career. At UFC 189 he continued that trend when he topped Rory MacDonald for a second time with a fifth-round knockout in the co-main event to retain his UFC welterweight championship. After a stunning resurgence to capture UFC gold, Lawler (26-10 MMA, 11-4 UFC) solidified his place at the as the world’s top 170-pound title with his first successful defense against MacDonald (18-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) in a “Fight of the Year” candidate.
