Robbie Lawler had a plan for his eventual return to the welterweight division, but it might not have been as drawn-out as one would imagine. Toiling for years in Strikeforce – and perhaps pining for a chance to get back to the UFC – Lawler said while in the now-defunct promotion, he planned to move back to 170 pounds from middleweight when he got the chance to return to the UFC. That chance came this past February, about a month after Strikeforce closed up shop.
