LAS VEGAS – Stephen Thompson ’s flashy kicks were on display early, but it was a simple right hand that dropped Robert Whittaker and spelled the beginning of the end, as “Wonderboy” followed up with a barrage of strikes to force a TKO finish at 3:43 of Round 1. The welterweight bout opened up the main card of today’s UFC 170 event at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
