LAS VEGAS – “The Ultimate Fighter 5″ veteran Manny Gamburyan (14-8 MMA, 5-6 UFC) showed a veteran’s savvy in his first fight at bantamweight by surviving danger from Cody Gibson (12-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and then seizing opportunity. Gibson consistently got the better of Gamburyan when the two stood and traded punches, but after a dicey stretch in the second, he failed to defend a submission and was forced to tap. The bantamweight bout opened up the preliminary card of today’s UFC 178 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 1 and a main card on pay-per-view.
