Tony Ferguson LAS VEGAS – After surviving the fistic onslaught of Abel Trujillo , Tony Ferguson stayed composed and exploited a lack of gas in his opponent’s tank. Ferguson (17-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) chased down Trujillo (12-6 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in the second round and dragged him to the mat before securing a submission late in the frame. The lightweight bout opened up the main card of today’s UFC 181 event at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. The official end came at the 4:19 mark of the second round after Ferguson grabbed Trujillo’s neck and squeezed with a rear-naked choke. It was quite a turnaround from the opening moments of the first frame, when Trujillo dropped Ferguson with a powerful left hook and hurt him in several subsequent exchanges.
